The Writer in You

You may not know, but Ms. Annie Patmon of Georgia was one of the winners of our St. Patrick’s Day "Well Versed In Luck" contest.

"Its funny, a simple contest inspired deep seeded commitment to the writer that had gotten lost within Ms. Patton." —Ambassador Tenel Britten

Where she has always had a writer inside somewhere, it wasn’t until after having won the Connected Living contest that she became recommitted. Since the time that Ms. Patmon won the contest, she posted quite a few new stories to the CLN.

Another Resident wrote the following poem:

We have a mouse in our House
By: Irene Goren, Resident at Holley Court Terrace

We have a mouse in our house.
Not the unwelcomed kind,
those that creep into houses,
get into attics and cupboards
and frighten ladies
clear out of their minds

No! this one rests on a table
silently, compliantly,
waiting for someone
to rouse it to activity.

This mouse, with long tail
is attached to the
20th Century phenomenon,
the wonder of wonders,
the boon to mankind,
"THE COMPUTER'

However, to me it is
daunting, disheartening,
the source of frustration
and my unraveling

For I am a visitor
in a strange landscape
The language here is English
but the word-meanings
are foreign to me.

It is a new, awesome,
challenging world to conquer.
